Today’s Our Daily Verse & Prayer 24 March 2023  Genesis 27:26-30, Hosea 14:1-8 (NIV)

Genesis 27:26-30 (NIV)

26Then his father Isaac said to him, “Come here, my son, and kiss me.”

27So he went to him and kissed him. When Isaac caught the smell of his clothes, he blessed him and said, “Ah, the smell of my son is like the smell of a field that the Lord has blessed.

28May God give you of heaven’s dew and of earth’s richness- an abundance of grain and new wine.

29May nations serve you and peoples bow down to you. Be lord over your brothers, and may the sons of your mother bow down to you. May those who curse you be cursed and those who bless you be blessed.”

30After Isaac finished blessing him and Jacob had scarcely left his father’s presence, his brother Esau came in from hunting.

Hosea 14:1-8 (NIV)

1Return, O Israel, to the Lord your God. Your sins have been your downfall!

2Take words with you and return to the Lord . Say to him: “Forgive all our sins and receive us graciously, that we may offer the fruit of our lips.

3Assyria cannot save us; we will not mount war-horses. We will never again say ‘Our gods’ to what our own hands have made, for in you the fatherless find compassion.”

4“I will heal their waywardness and love them freely, for my anger has turned away from them.

5I will be like the dew to Israel; he will blossom like a lily. Like a cedar of Lebanon he will send down his roots;

6his young shoots will grow. His splendor will be like an olive tree, his fragrance like a cedar of Lebanon.

7Men will dwell again in his shade. He will flourish like the grain. He will blossom like a vine, and his fame will be like the wine from Lebanon.

8O Ephraim, what more have I to do with idols? I will answer him and care for him. I am like a green pine tree; your fruitfulness comes from me.”

Do you realize after reading on these verses there are similarities? Genesis 27: 28 and Hosea 14:5,7 they are similar. Is about God’s blessings to the Israelites despite them sinning. God giving heaven’s dew, grain and wine. What’s the meaning of this? What is dew? Dew is tiny drops of water form at night which appears in the morning. Refreshing. God is promising His provision to the Israelites. There are 3 meanings to this dew. One is when the dew appears, manna also appears for the Jews to eat. So they won’t go hungry. The second meaning is referring to living water His word. He will nourish the people with water His word sanctifying them everyday bit by bit from their sins. The third meaning of dew is refering to the Holy Spirit which is also at work sanctifying the people that they will turn from their sins. When they turn from theirs sins,  they will grow to be like lily which means bearing fruit successful growth after much watering changing from dry baring souls to healthy people with deep roots which means solid stable foundation. They will bring in new believers who are the young shoots and they will grow. The people will be like a tree providing shade to others. They will flourish with plenty of provision of grain and wine from the vine.

Are you sinning against God and doubting His provision? God is merciful he will want you to turn to Him and change.

Let’s pray.

Dearest Heavenly Father,

Forgive me for my sins and doubts towards you, Forgive me for worrying over provision. Sanctify me O Lord. Refresh me with your dew, provide for me with your abundance of grain provision and new wine. Restore me physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually. You know my troubles, let them all be gone. I will be happy like the lily dancing in the wind with solid roots foundation. I will bear fruit and be steadfast and strong.

Please listen and answer my prayer for your son Jesus Christ sake. In His name I pray. Amen.
