Stop Procrastinating. I Will Put God First In My Life And Get Things Done. I Will Be A Responsible Person. Blessed Morning Prayer To Start Your Day.
Ecclesiastes 10:18 (NLT)
Laziness leads to a sagging roof; idleness leads to a leaky house.
Romans 12:11 (NIV)
If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.
1st Thessalonians 5:6 (ESV)
So then let us not sleep, as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober.
Colossians 3:16 (ESV)
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
Some of you might be procrastinate sometime. You might be delaying the to do list at work or at home. You don’t like to do them. You leave them to the last minute, sometimes even passing the deadline. Have you ever ignore washing your clothes for more than a week? They stink right? How about dishes, do you ignore washing your dishes after every meal piling up your dishes for a few days? The dishes are dirty, piling up the dirt making it stinky and more difficult to wash. How about relationship, you have a conflict with a friend, you procrastinate don’t want to make the call to your friend to apologize. How about your quiet time with God? You rather watch the dramas, movies, spending time with friends than spending time with God reading His word, praying to Him.
The Bible in Ecclesiastes 10:18 says Laziness leads to a sagging roof; idleness leads to a leaky house. This means when you are not taking care of the house, it leads to a sagging roof and leaky house. When you are lazy, your life is not in good condition, it can lead to leaking, damage with brokenness needing repair. Your sins pile up in your life causing you many problems.
You need to change and start working in your life and not be lazy. If you delay in doing things because you don’t like certain people or have conflict with others, you need to live at peace with others. This is mention in Romans 12:11 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.
Some people when they procrastinate, they go to sleep ignoring the things to do on hand. In 1st Thessalonians 5:6 we are told “So then let us not sleep, as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober.” If you are one of those people that fall asleep, wake up be sober. Get things done. Don’t delay.
How to get rid of procrastination? You can listen to hymns, spiritual Christian worship songs. This will encourage you. Sing along with the songs. Worship God. Give praise to Him first thing in the morning to encourage you. Apostle Paul told us in Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
I hope this devotion helps you.
Let’s pray.
Dearest Heavenly Father,
Forgive us for our procrastination. We are sorry that we have become lazy, doubtful, hesitant to do the things that we are suppose to do. Cleanse us O Lord. Don’t let us become like the house with sagging roof, leaky house. Let us have a firm foundation with you a strong solid house that will not fall, leak. Let us remember to praise you, worship you in our daily life, helping us to overcome the struggles in this life. Let us finish all the work we are suppose to do be it reconcile with those we have conflict with, getting the office work done. Let us remember to be awake and not be asleep.
In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
