I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.
Commentary
This verse is about spiritual powers of evil, taking the serpent and scorpion as symbols of these evil. As Christian, we have been given the power to overcome the evil, the enemy. In Genesis 3, the Bible talks about the craftiness of the serpent (snake) to tempt Eve and cause Adam and Eve to fall into his trap, his lies.
So beware of the snakes around you. Remember you have the power to fight them and trample them. As Christian, God is in us. We have the Holy Spirit who live in us and we can pray in Jesus name to fight against the evil. All our victories over Satan, are obtained by power derived from Jesus Christ.
