9:16 我传福音原没有可夸的，因为我是不得已的；若不传福音，我便有祸了。
9:17 我若甘心做这事，就有赏赐；若不甘心，责任却已经托付我了。
9:18 既是这样，我的赏赐是什么呢？就是我传福音的时候，叫人不花钱得福音，免得用尽我传福音的权柄。
16Yet when I preach the gospel, I cannot boast, for I am compelled to preach. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel!
17If I preach voluntarily, I have a reward; if not voluntarily, I am simply discharging the trust committed to me.
18What then is my reward? Just this: that in preaching the gospel I may offer it free of charge, and so not make use of my rights in preaching it.

Beware of pastors who charge for their sermons. Some pastors want you to buy their CD sermons or pay to listen their complete sermons online. They may entice you with a partial audio or video sermon and want you to pay to continue view or hear the rest of the sermons. Beware of them. We have been told by God that His Word should be free for all. If you are poor, if a pastor charge for the sermon. How can you afford it? It should be free will giving to the church to provide for the pastors and preacher needs. If you can’t afford to give is ok. There is no pressure to give. Some of the pastors that charge for their sermon, they are too rich and yet continue to ask for more money. Is this right? May God give you discernment.
