Isaiah 40:28-31, 1 Corinthians 12:27
28Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.
29He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
30Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall;
31but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Lately I got tired and weary about the long wait for God to answer my prayer. Today when I went to see my spring onion growth from onions, I become happy seeing that the spring onions are growing very well. I had grown 2 small onions hoping that they will become spring onions soon but after many weeks of waiting both of them refuse to grow into spring onion. 15 days ago, I planted 4 big onions in front of the 2 small onions hoping that the big onions will grow into spring onions. Today when I check on them, very happy both big and small are growing very well. In fact, one of the small onions spring onion grow taller than the rest of the big onions. Very surprise to see this. Happy to see the tremendous growth of this spring onion and all the onions. This reminds me we need to wait for the Lord. It takes time and patient. In due time, there will be fruit and harvest. It is all determine by God. You can’t rush through it. It is in all God’s plan. Today’s verse in Isaiah 40:28-31 is exactly what He wants us to remember. In times of tiredness, weariness, remember to have hope in the Lord. Wait for the Lord. Wait. He will renew your strength and you will soar on wings like eagles. You will not be weary and faint.
See this video to see the spring onions growth. See the big onions and small onions their growth.
In another previous sermon I did, I shared also about spring onion growth, about sowing of seeds and their growth and weeds. This time, God sent me another message about spring onion growth. Amazing what God is speaking through his creation.
Another lesson I learn is we cannot be alone, we need to have companion, community. We need to have older brothers & sisters in Christ in our life to nurture us and help us to grow. The 2 small onions when 4 big onions planted with them, they become well and grow together with the bigger onions.
1 Corinthians 12:27 Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.
