Sept 2021 Christ Unite Devotional Verses

30 Sept 2021  Joel 2:11-13 (NIV)

11The Lord thunders at the head of his army; his forces are beyond number, and mighty are those who obey his command. The day of the Lord is great; it is dreadful. Who can endure it?

12“Even now,” declares the Lord , “return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.”

13Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity.

29 Sept 2021  Isaiah 55:1-5 (NIV)

1“Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost.

2Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and your soul will delight in the richest of fare.

3Give ear and come to me; hear me, that your soul may live. I will make an everlasting covenant with you, my faithful love promised to David.

4See, I have made him a witness to the peoples, a leader and commander of the peoples.

5Surely you will summon nations you know not, and nations that do not know you will hasten to you, because of the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, for he has endowed you with splendor.”

28 Sept 2021  Numbers 6:24-26 (NIV)

24” ‘ “The Lord bless you and keep you;

25the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you;

26the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.” ‘

27 Sept 2021  John 1:14-18 (ESV)

14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

15 (John bore witness about him, and cried out, “This was he of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me ranks before me, because he was before me.’”)

16 For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.

17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

18 No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father’s side, he has made him known.

26 Sept 2021  Ruth 1:16 (ESV, NIV)

Ruth 1:16 (ESV)

But Ruth said, “Do not urge me to leave you or to return from following you. For where you go I will go, and where you lodge I will lodge. Your people shall be my people, and your God my God.

Ruth 1:16 (NIV)

But Ruth replied, “Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.

25 Sept 2021  Psalm 116:1-9 (NIV)

1I love the Lord , for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy.

2Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live.

3The cords of death entangled me, the anguish of the grave came upon me; I was overcome by trouble and sorrow.

4Then I called on the name of the Lord : “O Lord , save me!”

5The Lord is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion.

6The Lord protects the simplehearted; when I was in great need, he saved me.

7Be at rest once more, O my soul, for the Lord has been good to you.

8For you, O Lord , have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling,

9that I may walk before the Lord in the land of the living.

24 Sept 2021  Hosea 11 (NIV)

1“When Israel was a child, I loved him, and out of Egypt I called my son.

2But the more I called Israel, the further they went from me. They sacrificed to the Baals and they burned incense to images.

3It was I who taught Ephraim to walk, taking them by the arms; but they did not realize it was I who healed them.

4I led them with cords of human kindness, with ties of love; I lifted the yoke from their neck and bent down to feed them.

5“Will they not return to Egypt and will not Assyria rule over them because they refuse to repent?

6Swords will flash in their cities, will destroy the bars of their gates and put an end to their plans.

7My people are determined to turn from me. Even if they call to the Most High, he will by no means exalt them.

8“How can I give you up, Ephraim? How can I hand you over, Israel? How can I treat you like Admah? How can I make you like Zeboiim? My heart is changed within me; all my compassion is aroused.

9I will not carry out my fierce anger, nor will I turn and devastate Ephraim. For I am God, and not man- the Holy One among you. I will not come in wrath.

10They will follow the Lord ; he will roar like a lion. When he roars, his children will come trembling from the west.

11They will come trembling like birds from Egypt, like doves from Assyria. I will settle them in their homes,” declares the Lord .

12Ephraim has surrounded me with lies, the house of Israel with deceit. And Judah is unruly against God, even against the faithful Holy One.

23 Sept 2021  Psalm 13 (NIV)

1How long, O Lord ? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?

2How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and every day have sorrow in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me?

3Look on me and answer, O Lord my God. Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death;

4my enemy will say, “I have overcome him,” and my foes will rejoice when I fall.

5But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation.

6I will sing to the Lord, for he has been good to me.

22 Sept 2021  Titus 3:1-8 (NIV)

1Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good,

2to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and to show true humility toward all men.

3At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another.

4But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared,

5he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit,

6whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior,

7so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.

8This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone.

21 Sept 2021 Colossians 3:13 (NIV)

Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

20 Sept 2021 Psalm 56:8 (ESV), Psalm 149:4 (NKJ, NASB, Hebrew With English Translation)

Psalm 56:8 (ESV)

You have kept count of my tossings;
put my tears in your bottle.
Are they not in your book?

Psalm 149:4 (NKJ)

For the LORD takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the humble with salvation.

Psalm 149:4 (NASB)

19 Sept 2021   2 Timothy 1:7 (ESV)

For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.

18 Sept 2021   1 Peter 4:8 (NIV)

Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.

17 Sept 2021  Psalm 145:17-21 (NIV)

17The Lord is righteous in all his ways and loving toward all he has made.

18The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.

19He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them.

20The Lord watches over all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy.

21My mouth will speak in praise of the Lord . Let every creature praise his holy name for ever and ever.

16 Sept 2021 Psalm 136:26 (NIV), 1 Corinthians 13:13 (NIV)

Psalm 136:26 (NIV)

Give thanks to the God of heaven. His love endures forever.

1 Corinthians 13:13 (NIV)

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

15 Sept 2021  1 John 4:1-6 (NIV)

1Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

2This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God,

3but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.

4You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

5They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them.

6We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood.

14 Sept 2021  Psalm 121 (NIV)

1I lift up my eyes to the hills- where does my help come from?

2My help comes from the Lord , the Maker of heaven and earth.

3He will not let your foot slip- he who watches over you will not slumber;

4indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.

5The Lord watches over you- the Lord is your shade at your right hand;

6the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.

7The Lord will keep you from all harm- he will watch over your life;

8the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.

13 Sept 2021  Deuteronomy 15:11 (ESV), Matthew 25:31-40 (ESV)

Deuteronomy 15:11 (ESV)

For there will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore I command you, ‘You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land.’

Matthew 25:31-40 (ESV) The Final Judgement

31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne.

32 Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.

33 And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left.

34 Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.

35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me,

36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’

37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink?

38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you?

39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’

40 And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’

12 Sept 2021  Romans 12:16-18 (ESV)

16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight.

17 Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all.

18 If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.

11 Sept 2021  Romans 15:1-13 (NIV)

1We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves.

2Each of us should please his neighbor for his good, to build him up.

3For even Christ did not please himself but, as it is written: “The insults of those who insult you have fallen on me.”

4For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

5May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus,

6so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

7Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.

8For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the Jews on behalf of God’s truth, to confirm the promises made to the patriarchs

9so that the Gentiles may glorify God for his mercy, as it is written: “Therefore I will praise you among the Gentiles; I will sing hymns to your name.”

10Again, it says, “Rejoice, O Gentiles, with his people.”

11And again, “Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles, and sing praises to him, all you peoples.”

12And again, Isaiah says, “The Root of Jesse will spring up, one who will arise to rule over the nations; the Gentiles will hope in him.”

13May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

10 Sept 2021  Luke 8:49-56 (NIV)

49While Jesus was still speaking, someone came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue ruler. “Your daughter is dead,” he said. “Don’t bother the teacher any more.”

50Hearing this, Jesus said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed.”

51When he arrived at the house of Jairus, he did not let anyone go in with him except Peter, John and James, and the child’s father and mother.

52Meanwhile, all the people were wailing and mourning for her. “Stop wailing,” Jesus said. “She is not dead but asleep.”

53They laughed at him, knowing that she was dead.

54But he took her by the hand and said, “My child, get up!”

55Her spirit returned, and at once she stood up. Then Jesus told them to give her something to eat.

56Her parents were astonished, but he ordered them not to tell anyone what had happened.

9 Sept 2021   Psalm 51:1-12 (NIV)

1Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions.

2Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.

3For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me.

4Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight, so that you are proved right when you speak and justified when you judge.

5Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.

6Surely you desire truth in the inner parts ; you teach me wisdom in the inmost place.

7Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.

8Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones you have crushed rejoice.

9Hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity.

10Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

11Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me.

12Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

8 Sept 2021   Psalm 34:19-20

19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
but the Lord delivers him out of them all.

20 He keeps all his bones;
not one of them is broken.

7 Sept 2021  Psalm 6 (NIV)

1O Lord , do not rebuke me in your anger or discipline me in your wrath.

2Be merciful to me, Lord , for I am faint; O Lord , heal me, for my bones are in agony.

3My soul is in anguish. How long, O Lord , how long?

4Turn, O Lord , and deliver me; save me because of your unfailing love.

5No one remembers you when he is dead. Who praises you from the grave 1 ?

6I am worn out from groaning; all night long I flood my bed with weeping and drench my couch with tears.

7My eyes grow weak with sorrow; they fail because of all my foes.

8Away from me, all you who do evil, for the Lord has heard my weeping.

9The Lord has heard my cry for mercy; the Lord accepts my prayer.

10All my enemies will be ashamed and dismayed; they will turn back in sudden disgrace.

5Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;

6in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

7Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil.

8This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.

Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

4 Sept 2021 Psalm 103:8 (NIV)

The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.

Psalm 86:15 (ESV)

But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.

Psalm 86:15 (NIV)

But you, O Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.

Show me the right path, O Lord;
point out the road for me to follow.

1 Sept 2021  Galatians 5:14-15 (NIV),  Luke 6:45 (NIV), Matthew 7:1-5 (NIV)

Galatians 5:14-15 (NIV)

14The entire law is summed up in a single command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

15If you keep on biting and devouring each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.

Luke 6:45 (NIV)

45The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.

Matthew 7:1-5 (NIV)

1“Do not judge, or you too will be judged.

2For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

3“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?

4How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye?

5You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
