5 Crowns Christian Receive Now & In Heaven When Believers Believe In God Jesus Christ
Imperishable Crown, Crown of Rejoicing, Crown of Righteousness, Crown of Glory, Crown of Life
- Imperishable Crown (1 Corinthians 9:24-25)
24Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.
25Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.
This verse is about we Christian at the end of our journey in this earth, we will receive a crown that last forever. It will not perish. Is actually we will not perish. We need to do the right things in this life in earth, telling others about God. We need to do what God tells us to do to receive this crown. Jesus said in Matthew 6:19-21 Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
- Crown of Rejoicing (1 Thessalonians 2:19, Philippians 4:1, Revelation 21:4)
1 Thessalonians 2:19
For what is our hope, our joy, or the crown in which we will glory in the presence of our Lord Jesus when he comes? Is it not you?
Philippians 4:1
Therefore, my brothers, you whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, that is how you should stand firm in the Lord, dear friends!
This crown of rejoicing in 1 Thessalonians 2:19 & Philippians 4:1 is actually referring to the believers whom Paul has minister to. Is applicable to us too. When we minister to others, they are our joy and crown which we will glory in the presence of our Lord Jesus. We will rejoice to see them in heaven with us.
Revelation 21:4
He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
When we are in heaven with Jesus, there will be joy. There will not be sorrow, pain, grief. No more crying or mourning. No more death. This is His promise in Revelation 21:4.
- Crown of Righteousness (2 Timothy 4:7-8)
7I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
8Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day–and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
If we keep our faith, at the end of this life in earth, when we are with God in heaven, we will be given the crown of righteousness. We have righteousness because of Jesus as He atone us for our sins. Even though, Jesus make us right with God through His righteousness. We need to remember to do what is right thing to do in this life in earth. Not do things that are not righteous. No pride, no arrogance. No lies.
- Crown of Glory (1 Peter 5:1-4, Psalm 8:5)
1 Peter 5:1-4
1To the elders among you, I appeal as a fellow elder, a witness of Christ’s sufferings and one who also will share in the glory to be revealed:
2Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, serving as overseers–not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not greedy for money, but eager to serve;
3not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock.
4And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.
This verse in 1 Peter 5:1-4 is referring to pastors, elders, preachers, those who minister the word to others, looking after believers will receive the crown of glory.
How about other Christian? Those not doing any ministry work? Do they receive this crown of glory?
Yes. They will receive the crown of glory as all Christian are God’s glory. This is seen in Psalm 8:5 You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor.
- Crown of Life (James 1:12, Revelation 2:10)
James 1:12
Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.
Revelation 2:10
Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life.
In this 2 verses, is about trials of Christian. Some of us have trials, we are suffering. God said that if we remain faithful, we persevere under trial, persecution, we will receive the crown of life. Don’t give up when you face hardship, problems in life. Stay faithful to God. Believe in Him. We Christian who remain faithful to God despite trials, suffering, persecution, will receive the crown of life which is eternal life forever. Stay faithful to God forever.
