11 April 2023 Psalm 3 (NIV) Devotional

Psalm 3 (NIV)

1O Lord , how many are my foes! How many rise up against me!

2Many are saying of me, “God will not deliver him.” Selah

3But you are a shield around me, O Lord ; you bestow glory on me and lift up my head.

4To the Lord I cry aloud, and he answers me from his holy hill. Selah

5I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the Lord sustains me.

6I will not fear the tens of thousands drawn up against me on every side.

7Arise, O Lord ! Deliver me, O my God! Strike all my enemies on the jaw; break the teeth of the wicked.

Are you facing problems, personal attack from others? Don’t worry. Don’t be afraid. God is a shield to you if you believe in Him. He will protect you. This morning, I had a strange dream which seems so real. I was talking with someone I knew in the dream who is no longer alive. Then suddenly, I woke up from the dream. I tried to go back to sleep but I can’t. Only after waking up, do some devotion reading for a while, then I manage to go to sleep after that. I think is God the Holy Spirit knowing I had this dream and woke me up, protecting me not to be too absorb in the dream as the dream is not real. This makes me think about today’s verse the whole of Psalm 3 that talks about God’s protection against enemies and sleep. God protects me not just in my dream. He also protects me from danger and harm from others for I am His. He lift up my head for I am His glory. I am still alive and well. Is all thanks to My God.

Let’s pray.

Dearest Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ and Holy Spirit,

Thank you for your protection over me. Protecting me from harm and danger when I am awake and when I sleep. Even when others attack me, you know your child and protect me. You are a loving God that loves me so much. Thank you for your love, care and understanding. While others accuse, attack me, wanting me to fall, you sustain me. You never leave me. Only you know my heart. Please continue to protect me and glorify me O Lord. Lift up my head high that I can glorify you.

In your name I pray. Amen.

After writing this devotion and in between my recording, I got some disturbance from someone and got accuse. The evil knows what I am doing and using those around me to attack me. May God protect me from harm, danger, accusation and stop using people around me to attack me.

In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
